June, 2017

Our monthly meeting will be Tuesday, June 13th at 7:00 pm. All are welcome! Please join us! Bring a friend! We will meet at McAllisters (just east of Holiday Ham) for dinner at 5:30.

Please bring any Wee Care gowns – finished or unfinished – to our meeting, or drop them off at Lace Cottage. Thanks!

Phyllis and Vivian Remind Us This Month:

Happy June everyone!

I look forward to this time of year- since all of the hustle of graduations and the end of school has come and gone.  Now is the time for those vacations and Vacation Bible School and Summer Camps for kids.  And of course….the weddings!  We are so excited in our family that we have a nephew getting married in June.  I’ve been busy making outfits for my two grandsons for the wedding.  I may be up all night – but they will get done.

At Lace Cottage we are once again getting ready for our Kids Camp.  The girls will be making shorts, a bag and a pillowcase for their overnight stays!  We had our first Sew-In last Friday night!  I think Laura Beth and Teresa were the winners for productivity that night!  I also was able to get a close up view of the adorable outfit Teresa posted on Facebook the other day- ‘Hail State’.  I hope she brings it to our meeting!  Beautiful work Teresa!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!

Wee Care Gowns Workday– 4th Tuesday of Each Month from January – October.
Mark your calendar for our next Wee Care Workday will be the 4th Tuesday in June – June 27 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (Poplar Pike). Please make plans to come for all or part of the day -  it would be a great help. We need folks to bring sewing machines to sew the outfits that have been pinned.

Program:

Either Sara or Laurel will have our program at our meeting. Needed supplies will be sent prior to our meeting.

Show and Share:

From Kit:
I will be bringing a box full of pleated gowns and dresses to guild of various sizes for everyone to sort thru and take what they want. I have had them in my possession for a long while as I inherited them from a church project. THEY NEED TO GO! I"m in the process of remodeling my sewing room this month (YIPPY) and I'm purging a bunch of stuff. Then we can take a field trip to my house for a viewing!

From Amy:
White size 3 bishop. Bishop design was just made up.

Crab outfit is a Mary De top with Parker pants that I made wider and longer. Smocking design is Blue Crabs by CEC.

From Laurel:

I’m trying to finish up a smocked UFO.  Does anyone have a copy of Vogue 7593, a Teresa Layman smocked dress and pinafore pattern?  I need the smaller size (2-3-4).  I just need to trace the bodice for view C; will not cut your pattern!

Would much appreciate it.
