Our March meeting will be Tuesday March 12th at 7:00pm. We will meet at Holiday Ham at 5:30pm for dinner. Everyone is welcome, please join us!

Wee Care
Please bring any finished gowns and be prepared to take some more! We are always in need of more gowns!

Program
This month's program will be a smocked cupcake pincushion. This is a darling project that will be taught by Judy Potter. Please bring the following:

• Scissors
• Smocking needle
• White thread

Education
We are excited to announce the project for the Stitcher's Playhouse class! We will be doing the Emmaline dress from Violette Field Threds (violettefieldsthreads.com). The first 6 people signed up and ready at our March meeting to pay for the course will be admitted.

The class cost is $42.50 PLUS the cost of fabric, pattern and supplies available at stitcher's playhouse. The dress is pictured in a Chevron fabric that is available if you'd like. The Emmaline dress is for Sizes 2-10.

February 2013

Our February Meeting will be Tuesday, February 12 at 7:00pm. We will meet at Holiday Ham at 5:30pm for dinner. Everyone is welcome, please join us!

Our program this month will be "A Day in the Life of a WeeCare Gown".

Wee Care
Please finish up any gowns you have and bring them in and be prepared to take some new ones home as we continue to fill orders and create a stockpile for orders to come.

Show and Share
Please send pictures of any garments or your loved ones wearing them to Laura Hill for the show and share section of our blog!

In the meantime... thanks for all of the sweet comments for Baby Girl Hill arriving this May! I'm afraid she is a little camera shy!

Here is Laura's daughter, Emily (middle) in her "Christmas" dress. This dress was started for Easter 2012 and just completed two days before Christmas!

And, here she is about an hour after putting it on.. She is now only in her slip (made from the Jeannie Baumeister class) after stepping on her hem and tearing the skirt completely from the entredeux at the yoke!

Oh well!

November 2012

For our program this month, we will be making this darling mitten ornament from the Sep/Oct 2004 issue of Creative Needle! Please bring a scissor and a smocking needle. All other materials will be provided.

Wee Care

Christmas Party
The Christmas party will be December 11th! Please look for the food signup this week at the meeting.

Dues
Chapter dues are due to Kellie this November. The cost is $15, make check payable to Memphis Area Smocking Guild.

Sunshine
Chris welcomed a new grandson in October! JohnWalden Weibel, born October 22nd at 4:37pm, 7.7lbs. Everyone is fine! Congratulations Chris!!

Program
For our program this month, we will have a mini market! Please bring anything you would like to sell, such as, fabric, patterns, notions, etc! It's a good opportunity to clear some space and earn some cash for all of your Holiday projects!

We will also have a show and share of any Christmas items you have made! Please bring anything current or from years passed!

Wee Care
Please bring your finished Wee Care gowns to the meeting and be prepared to take some new ones! We need to build up our stock for future orders.

Convention
Thanks to everyone who helped to create our beautiful convention basket! Debbie will fill us all in when she returns from convention! Here is a picture of the completed basket:

Library
We have purchased two copies of A to Z of Heirloom Sewing for our library. One of the copies will be available for purchase for $32.93. Names will be drawn if more than one person is interested in purchasing this copy.

Wee Care
Please bring in all finished gowns and finish up those that you have laying around! We need to build up our inventory of finished gowns.

Convention
If you signed up to complete an item for our convention basket, please bring it in finished on Tuesday. Convention is next month and Debbie will need to get our basket ready!
