VaP (Vivian and Phyllis) Vibes
Welcome to Spring. I just love this time of year when
everything is blooming and we are getting our Spring cleaning done in the yard!
I hope everyone is ready for Easter. I
just love all of the Easter dresses on the sweet girls and the shorts sets for
the boys. I am still getting my
grandsons Easter outfits finished. There
is a buzz around the shop with all of the sewing going on- from Easter to
graduations and weddings! I really love
seeing all the fresh ideas.
We are getting ready for our summer schedule at Lace
Cottage as well. We will have a couple
of “Kid’s Camps” this year- it was very successful last year and I think the
girls loved it! Once they master a few
projects, maybe we can get the girls started on some handwork. Then they will really have the “sewing bug”!
With Easter right around the corner I hope all of you get
to spend time with your families and have a wonderful time. This is a very special time of year. I know as much as I love being busy it will
be nice once the projects are done and I can think about summer!
I hope everyone will be at the meeting Tuesday.

Wee
Care Gowns Workday– 4th Tuesday of Each Month from January – October
Mark your calendar! Our next Wee Care Workday (9:30 – 2:00)
will be April
25, 2017 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (Poplar Pike). Please make plans to
come for all or part of the day -
it would be a great help. We need folks to bring sewing machines to sew the outfits that have been pinned. Many
kudos to those working at our last workday –
Amy Johnson, Regina Sanford, Glynda Whitlow, and Jane Soffos.
Program:
We
will be concentrating on step-by-step smocking and completing Wee Care gowns.
You only need to bring sewing scissors. Regina will have kits ready for us to
use at the meeting and continue next month. Many hands will see lots of love in
new Wee Care gowns!

5th Annual
How-To Festival
Germantown Community
Library
Planning has begun for
the 2017 How-To Festival. As an alumni presenter, we have been
extended a special early invitation for the 2017 event. Just like last year,
we’ll be helping people to learn new skills in a friendly, free, hands-on
environment.
The community will be
invited to the library to rotate between tables and decide what they would like
to learn. To enhance the learner's experience, we are encouraged to make our
presentation as hands-on as possible.
