Thoughts
from Phyllis
Our Smocking Guild gathering was a success! Thanks to
everyone who came out and for those of you who brought items for display and
the delicious food and drinks! Virginia,
thank you for everything- it was delicious.
One guest came by just to see what plate was used for the dress in the
invitation. We hope we will have some
new ladies come to our meeting this month.
I know we have a few ladies looking into bringing in a
teacher for a class, which would be great!
If you have any ideas please bring them to the meeting. We could also take a “field trip” to a class
if you know of any not too far away.
I am so looking forward to spring this year! It has been unusually gloomy and wet lately –
but the few beautiful days we have had were so uplifting. On a good note though, I have gotten to work
more on some sewing projects since I can’t work outside.
See you Tuesday!

Life Lutheran Church (Poplar Pike). Please make plans to come for all

a great help. We need folks to bring sewing
machines to sew the outfits that have been pinned.

Susan recommends reading:
The
Girl Who Wrote in Silk – a great historical fiction novel that blends the past
with the present. I’ve enjoyed the
mystery behind the embroidered sleeve from long ago. A good read or listen!
Kit made this dress for her
granddaughter’s (Gwennie) first birthday for her Alice in Wonderland theme!
Photos from our membership tea
in February! Thanks again to all for help!
