Happy May everyone!
I know they say April showers bring May flowers, but this rain has been
ridiculous! We are going to have some beautiful flowers coming soon
hopefully.
With school winding down this month, there will be
graduations and then summer fun clothes to sew!
We are having our Kids’ Camp at Lace Cottage again this year – so if
anyone has grandchildren who might want to sew – this is a fun camp! We are making pajama bottoms, pillowcases and
an outfit for a doll.
Don’t forget to bring your pillowcases this month. We will
continue working on them.
Also – please bring any Wee Care gowns you have finished.
We are also having our booth again this year at the
Germantown Library. Be thinking of items
you would like displayed. I think Susan
has been working on getting us a good table for our display. (Thanks Susan!)
See you Tuesday.

Wee Care Gowns
Workday– 4th Tuesday of Each Month from January – October.
Mark your
calendar for our next Wee Care Workday will be the 4th Tuesday in May, May 22, 2018 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (Poplar Pike). Please make plans to come for all or part of the day - it
would be a great help. We really need folks to bring sewing
machines to sew the outfits that have been cut and pinned.
Mark
your calendar: Saturday, May 21 – Germantown Community Library, 1:00 – 4:00
Planning has
begun for the 2018 How-To Festival. As an alumni presenter, we have
been extended a special early invitation for the 2018 event. Just like last
year, we’ll be helping people to learn new skills in a friendly, free, hands-on
environment.
The
community will be invited to the library to rotate between tables and decide
what they would like to learn. To enhance the learner's experience, we are
encouraged to make our presentation as hands-on as possible.
We
need MASG teams from 12:30 – 2:30 (includes setup) and 2:30 – 4:30 (includes
takedown)
Please sign up for a time at our May
meetings. We can be as creative as we want to be. The
more pleaters and more projects the better! Also any smo9cking books or magazines
will create interest!

There is an Instagram page
for us... check out Memphisareasmockingguild on Instagram. Any pictures are
welcomed. Seriously, don’t be shy or reserved. We WANT people to see everything
we are doing.
Anyone who wants to can bring things to our meeting and I can take photos to be posted. The more info you have (patterns, fabric, class techniques, etc), the more I can post. I do not post faces of children unless you say it’s ok or unless they belong to me.

Came up with a couple of
wee care gown designs this month that I like. I am finding that smocking my top
row as a wave stitch makes it easy to attach the neckband smoothly.
